Lake Information for Lake of the Ozarks
The Lake of the Ozarks is a large man-made reservoir created by impounding the Osage River in the northern part of the Ozarks in central Missouri. Extents of three smaller tributaries to the Osage, the Niangua River, Grandglaize Creek, and Gravois Creek, are included in the impoundment. The lake has a surface area of 55,000 acres, over 1,150 miles of shoreline, and the main channel of the Osage Arm stretches 92 miles from end to end.
The Lake of the Ozarks State Park has three paved boat ramps; a four-lane ramp at each of the Grand Glaize Beach and Pa He Tsi locations; and a two-lane ramp at Public Beach #1.
The Lake of the Ozarks is one of Missouri's premier fishing destinations, and can be accessed via one of the park's two paved boat ramps located at both public beaches. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including bass, crappie, walleye, bluegill and catfish.
